Tim Thomas Biography

Tim Thomas played 17 years in the NHL with the Boston Bruins, Florida Panthers and Dallas Stars. Although he played several years in the minor leagues after being drafted 217th overall in the 1994 NHL Draft, he finally made it to the big show at age 28 and became a star. He won the Vezina Trophy as the league's top goaltender twice in 2009 and 2011 and was named the MVP of the 201 Stanley Cup Playoffs. In addition to his time in the NHL he also played competitively overseas and as a member of the USA national team, representing his home country at the 1995 and 1998 World Championships and at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics in which he helped the stars and stripes to a Silver Medal.
