Ryan Strome is a professional ice hockey player originating from Canada. Fairly new to the National Hockey League, he is currently a vital contribution to the New York Islanders' roster. Strome was born in Ontario, Canada in 1993 and grew up playing on club teams before he commenced his professional career in the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) in 2008. The following season, he was selected in the 2009 Draft by the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League. Strome debuted for the NHL in 2011 as the fifth overall pick by the New York Islanders. He spent some time in the minor league affiliates before making his big break in 2013 and officially playing for the Islanders. Before being called up from the minors, Strome was leading the league in points and is expected to lead the NHL in points someday, as well. Strome has two brothers who are working their way up to the NHL as well, with talent, hard work and determination running in the family blood. ;
