Ken Holland Biography

Ken Holland is the Los Angeles Kings general manager and president of hockey operations. He previously served as the executive vice president and general manager of the Detroit Red Wings from 1997 to 2019. He started his managerial career as a scout with the Red Wings after a brief playing career. Holland then spent seven years as the director of amateur scouting and three years as assistant general manager. He became the general manager after Detroit won the Stanley Cup in 1997. Holland then led the Red Wings to three more championships. During Holland's tenure, Detroit won more regular season and postseason games than any other team. In 2009, Holland was listed as second-best overall on Sports Illustrated's list of the top sports executives of the 2000s and in 2020 he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
