John Joseph Valiquette, more commonly recognized as Jack Valiquette, is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. Valiquette played forward in the National Hockey League. He was born in 1954 in St. Thomas, Ontario and was a first round selection in the 1974 Amateur Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs. His seven-year professional career also included time playing for the Colorado Rockies. Valiquette was demoted to the minors in 1981 and ultimately chose to retire from the sport. However, throughout his professional career, he played in 350 NHL games, scored 84 goals and obtained 134 assists. He was also the recipient of the Red Tilson Trophy, Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy, and Emms Family Award in his early career as the result of being an outstanding player, the leading scorer, and the leading rookie in the Ontario Hockey League. ;
