Eric Lindros Biography
Eric Lindros began his professional hockey career in the Ontario Hockey League with the Oshawa Generals. As one of the best players in the league, Lindros helped lead the Generals to win the Memorial Cup in 1990, the season in which Lindros would also win the Red Tilson Trophy for the OHL’s Most Outstanding Player of the Year. Following his impressive seasons in the OHL, Lindros was drafted with the first overall pick in the 1991 NHL Draft by the Quebec Nordiques. After refusing to play for the Nordiques, Lindros was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers where he began his 15 year NHL career. Lindros quickly established himself as one of the top players in the NHL and by 1998 at the age of 25 was included on a list of the 100 Greatest Players in NHL History at #54. Lindros was selected to 7 All-Star teams throughout his career and won the Hart Memorial Trophy for the League’s MVP in 2005. Lindros is the 4th fastest player in NHL history to reach 400 points and in 2002 won an Olympic gold medal with the Canadian national team at the Salt Lake City Olympic Games.
