Craig Berube Biography

Craig Berube is the head coach of the St. Louis Blues. Upon being named interim head coach of the Blues in 2018, Berube led a remarkable turnaround that ended in the team winning their first Stanley Cup. He took over the team in November when they sat at the bottom of the standings. Down the stretch, Berube led them to a 30-10-5 record, including a franchise-best 11-game winning streak. For the remarkable turnaround, he was named a finalist for the Jack Adams Award given to the NHL Coach of the Year. Berube originally joined the organization St. Louis as assistant head coach in 2017. He was previously the head coach of their AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves. Berube did have prior NHL head coaching experience with the Philadelphia Flyers, leading them to one postseason appearance in two seasons. He built extensive credibility in the hockey world during a 17-year NHL playing career. Berube was known as an enforcer as a player and his over 3,000 penalty minutes was good enough to rank in the top ten in league history.
