Connor Hellebuyck Biography

Connor Hellebuyck is a goaltender for the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets originally selected him in the fifth round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Hellebuyck spent two seasons playing at UMASS-Lowell. He won two Hockey East Championships and was the first player to ever be named tournament MVP twice. As a freshman, he helped lead the River Hawks to the Frozen Four. He was named to the Hockey East First Team as a sophomore. Hellebuyck spent his first professional season with the St. John's Ice Caps ;and was named as the Eastern Conference starter for the 2015 AHL All-Star Game. He started the next season in the AHL as well before making his NHL debut. Hellebuyck became a full-time starter in 2016 and finished the season 26-19-4. He was selected as an All-Star for the first time the following year. Hellebuyck helped lead the United States to a 7-1 record and pitched two shutouts on the way to a bronze medal at the 2015 World Championships. ;
