When it's time to analyze the NHL on ESPN, Barry Melrose is the man for the job.  For the last 15 years he's been the face of the NHL in regards to breaking down the game and providing the viewers with a truthful and spot on analysis of what's going on both on the ice and behind the scenes. As a former player and coach in the NHL Melrose has a wealth of knowledge that he expertly and articulately conveys to viewers who are both hockey enthusiast and those who may not know much about the game. After playing 300 games in the NHL he began his coaching career in the WHL in 1987 and led the Medicine Hat Tigers to a Memorial Cup Title.  From that point on he coached in the AHL before landing a head-coaching job with the LA Kings in 1992.  He remained with the Kings for three seasons before signing on with ESPN.In addition to his duties at ESPN he has also appeared in several commercials and movies over the course of his career.  Melrose is an entertainment gem, with classic good looks and plenty of personality and charm.  When he's not working he enjoys spending time with his wife at their home in Glenn Falls, New York.
