Phil Esposito Biography

Phil Esposito had an 18-year Hall of Fame career for the Chicago Blackhawks, Boston Bruins, and New York Rangers.  The ten-time All-Star won two Stanley Cups with the Bruins.  All six of his 100-plus point seasons came in a Boston uniform.  Twice Esposito won the Hart Trophy as the league's MVP and he led the league in goals in six straight years.  Playing with legendary defenseman Bobby Orr proved to be one of the greatest combinations in hockey history.  Upon his retirement, he ranked second all-time in goals and points and third in assists.  Following his playing career, Esposito became general manager of the Rangers.  One of his greatest accomplishments was founding the Tampa Bay Lightning, who are now one of the NHL's most successful franchises.  Esposito served as the team president and general manager until 1998.  He is still the team's radio analyst.  His brother Tony is also a Hockey Hall of Famer.
