Mitchell Marner Biography

Mitchell Marner is one of the top young stars in the NHL. The Toronto Maple Leafs originally selected him fourth overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut alongside 2016 top overall pick Auston Matthews. Despite the presence of the high-profile Matthews, Marner also broke out and was named NHL Rookie of the Month in January 2017. Prior to arriving in Toronto, Marner spent three seasons in the OHL with the London Knights. He was a two-time OHL All-Star who won the Red Tilson Trophy as league MVP in 2016. The Knights went on to win the Memorial Cup that year and Marner was both tournament MVP and leading scorer.
