Jacques Martin, a Canadian native, is most famously known as a professional ice hockey coach. He currently serves as an assistant coach for the Pittsburgh Penguins but has previously coached with the St. Louis Blues, Ottawa Senators, Montreal Canadiens, Florida Panthers, and several other teams throughout the years. Born in 1952, Martin has been coaching since the ‘80's. He made his coaching debut with the Peterborough Petes in the Ontario Hockey League in 1983. He was hired as the coach of the Florida Panthers when the '04-'05 season was cancelled due to the lockout. As a coach, Martin has achieved one Stanley Cup championship title, twelve playoff appearances, and four division championships. Prior to coaching, Martin was still shaping young lives and minds as he had a short career as a high school French teacher. Martin established the Jacques Martin Hockey School in Canada over twenty years ago for kids falling between the ages of seven and seventeen and continues to run it each and every summer. ;
